Abstract
C. equi is a frequent pathogen of domestic animals causing suppuration of the lungs, lymph nodes and endometrium of horses, swine and cattle. It is a common contaminant of the soil. The first human case of C. equi infection is recorded involving an immunologically deficient male with a lung abscess, who probably contracted his infection while working in the environment of swine and cattle. Keywords
