Abstract
The body equilibrium compensation profile (degree of dysequilibrium, direction of falls, etc.) after unilateral utricular nerve section was investigated in squirrel monkeys. Severe dysequilibrium was observed after this procedure without exception. Complete equilibrium compensation took place three weeks to one month postoperatively. The difference in equilibrium function after unilateral utricular nerve section and saccular macula ablation in the squirrel monkey was clearly demonstrated. Keywords
