Abstract
The Syrian hamster, Cricetus auratus, develops dental decay in its molars when fed on a laboratory diet containing a large amt. of soft or finely ground carbohydrate and no coarse particles. The carious lesions usually begin in susceptibile locations, as the grooves, fossae and sulci, and the smooth cervical or proximal surfaces. Keywords
