Abstract
In a comparison of the loss‐on‐ignition and wet‐oxidation techniques, using data from different investigators, it was found that loss‐on‐ignition overestimated the organic matter content approximately 4 times. Therefore, it should not be used in estuarine waters with a high clay content. This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
