AUTOTRANSPLANTATION AND REGENERATION OF THE ADRENAL GLAND

Abstract
Experimentation on 140 adult [female] rats indicated that autografts of entire adrenals degenerate except for capsule and rim of zona glomerulosa. Regeneration then sets in (3d day) if there is not another functional adrenal present. The capsule is essential to regeneration.
