Abstract
Evidence is presented to show that binding is an essential property for intrinsic factor activity. Exchange between bound and free vitamin B12 in normal human gastric juice is slow or negligible under conditions of these experiments. Intrinsic factor preferentially binds vitamin B12 in the presence of pseudovitamin B12.Keywords
