Abstract
The occurrence of α- and β-amino acids in biological systems and their exceptional utility as chiral building blocks underlies the importance of new and improved methods for their synthesis in enantiomerically pure form. The intent of this review is to highlight the applications of a new class of chiral imine building block, sulfinimines (thiooxime S-oxides), for the enantioselective synthesis of amino acids and their derivertives. Keywords
