Feasible Complete Experiments of Pion Photoproduction

Abstract
Possibilities of the complete experiments of pion photoproduction are discussed. For gamma ray energy up to 400 MeV measurements of the following four independent quantities are complete; two differential cross sections with linearly polarized gamma rays, the polarization of the recoil nucleon and differential cross section on a polarized nucleon target. Use of the deuteron target is emphsized and a formulation is made for the pion photoproduction from deuteron. We propose and alternative experiment with deuteron target in which the effect of the Pauli priniciple is most appreciable. Kinematics and counting rates in these expeiments are discussed. Related cross sections and polarizations are calculated by the use of the Chew-Goldberger-Low-Nambu theory.
