Survival of Coccidioides immitis Under Controlled Conditions of Temperature and Humidity

Abstract

Dry spores of C. immitis were stored under varying temperatures and humidities for varying times. Spores suspended in distilled water, physiological saline and brine also were stored at varying temperatures for varying times. Their survivals gave further evidence of the adaptation of the fungus to the rigors of their arid habitat.
