Employing the term "synapse" to include all junctional tissue between excitable tissues and assuming that synapses in all animals have the same fundamental properties, evidence from a wide variety of sources is presented to support the thesis that trans-missional (synaptic) electrogenesis may be differentiated from conductile (spike) electrogenesis as follows: [image].
