Abstract
Single phase ternary alloys of Mn, Zn and C have been prepared. These alloys have an ordered structure of the perovskite type and show a spontaneous magnetization at room temperature. The observed magnetic properties are exceptional and indicate a new type of ferrimagnetic behaviour postulated by Néel but hitherto unobserved in experiment. Keywords
