Abstract
Employing a soluble antigen, direct complement-fixation reactions (DCF) were obtained with turkey anti-ornithosis sera. Studies on 181 normal and infected turkeys detected 36% and 33% reactors by the direct and indirect complement-fixation tests, respectively. In view of the sensitivity of the DCF, the failure to find serious prozone effects, and the early appearance in infection of the DCF antibodies, the practical use of the direct test is promising. Keywords
