Using an Aids questionnaire in schools

Abstract
A QUESTIONNAIRE developed for use in schools in West Dorset has been found to provide a helpful way of commencing teaching and promoting discussion on Aids. It can also be used to evaluate students' beliefs and attitudes before and after teaching. Results of 442 completed questionnaires from 14 to 16-year-olds showed a good knowledge of Aids, especially in those areas emphasised by the govern ment campaign, but they also identified some com mon misconceptions, notably about the reliability of condoms for preventing its spread.
