Abstract
A method for the characterisation of sterol double bonds is described involving hydroboration of various double bonds followed by gas chromatographic analysis of the resultant alcohol as trimethylsilyl ether and trifluoroacetate derivatives to determine the ΔRMr (hydroboration) values. Two types of behaviour depending on the degree of substitution have been observed and some limitations of the method are noted. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
