Abstract
A study of 653 Candida albicans isolates indicated that 68% belonged to antigenic Group A and 32% to Group B. These strains were obtained from all anatomical sites but the majority were from the nasopharyngeal region. A slightly higher percentage of B strains was isolated from females. Of 55 C. albicans strains isolated from the vagina of pregnant Negro women 60% were Group B and 40% were Group A.Keywords
