Abstract
Multipole coefficients for Zn, C, and O ions in GaP were evaluated by fitting the shell substructure in donor-acceptor spectra reported by Dean et al. Details of the fitting are given for the type-II spectrum of Zn+O. These coefficients may be of value for the calculation of donor and acceptor ionization energies. The pairing of Zn and O in GaP and the isoelectronic substitution of N for P are discussed.
