The Princeton-Buffalo Expedition to the West Indies

Abstract
During the latter half of July, 1928, 6 transections of the Gulf stream were made in latitude of the Bahamas; and collections of bottom forms and plankton were made on banks of the Bahamas. Calanus finmarchius was collected in the Gulf stream; the presence of this northern form is explained by coastal drift of northern waters. temp. on banks was 86[degree] F.; close to shore, 90[degree]-92[degree]. Plankton was sparse over banks; this is thought to be the cause of paucity of bottom forms. Observations were used to interpret fauna of epeiric Paleozoic seas.
