A method for the micro-determination of magnesium

Abstract

A micro-technique for the detn. of Mg, using 8-hydroxyquinoline is described. Analyses on known amts. of Mg of 114-3.8 [gamma] show that down to 20 [gamma] the coefficient of variation of an individual detn. from the theoretical quantity does not exceed 4.3%. 50 [gamma] of Mg in 3.5 cc. can be detd. directly in presence of 200 [gamma] of Ca without any increased error due to the Ca.
