Chronische Lungenveränderungen nach Nitrofurantoin-Medikation*

Abstract

Anlaß zur Publikation waren die erstmals von uns beobachteten infiltrativen und vorwiegend chronisch fibrosierenden Lungenveränderungen nach Nitrofurantoin-Langzeitbehandlung. Nach Absetzen des Präparates und unter Kortison bildeten sich die Infiltrate zurück, die fibrosierenden Veränderungen waren nicht mahr progredient. Die Diagnose wurde erhärtet durch die anamnestische Nitrofurantoin-Exposition, dem vom Patienten unfreiwillig selbst durchgeführten Provokationstest und schließlich durch die klinische und röntgenologische Verlaufskontrolle. The reason for this publication was our initial observation of infiltrative and predominantly chronicfibrosing pulmonary changes after prolonged nitrofurantoin treatment. After the substance had been stopped and cortisone had been given, the infiltrate regressed and there was no further development of the fibrotic changes. The diagnosis depended on the history of nitrofurantoin exposure, a provocative test carried out involuntarily by the patient and on the clinical and radiological changes.
