Abstract
Because the polaron coupling constant in tellurium is relatively large, polar optical scattering should be important in the charge transport by free carriers. Reflection and transmission measurements on heavily doped samples in the far infrared yield the amount and the frequency dependence of the free carrier scattering in the spectral region of the reststrahlen bands. From the amount of the increase in scattering at the eigenfrequency of the LO phonons the contribution of polaron scattering can be determined. This publication has 9 references indexed in Scilit:
