CONGENITAL ABSENCE OF THE ABDOMINAL MUSCULATURE AND ASSOCIATED ANOMALIES

Abstract
A summary of 38 cases of absence of the abdominal musculature reported in the literature since 1950 is presented. Four additional cases of this syndrome observed by the authors are described. Anomalies associated with the syndrome are discussed. The diagnosis and treatment of accompanying obstruction of the genitourinary or gastrointestinal systems are stressed.
