Abstract
A systematic numerical study of the efficiency of perfectly conducting Fourier gratings is presented. Efficiency curves for optimized Fourier gratings in Littrow mount are given and compared to those of the corresponding sinusoidal and echelette gratings. It is shown that under certain circumstances the former are better. The influence of finite conductivity as well as non-zero deviation is discussed. Keywords
