Abstract
Acetazolamide and ouabain, metabolic inhibitors which interfere with certain membrane transport systems, reduce the rate of water elimination by maleGlossina morsitans morsitans. The results suggest that water is transported across membranes during diuresis and that a ouabain sensitive Na+K+ ATPase and an acetazolamide-sensitive carbonic anhydrase are involved in diuresis.Keywords
