Abstract
Some 2,400 sociological descriptions taken from throughout the geographic and ecological range of Nothofagus solandri are divided into 23 plant associations. The breakdown used similarity indices, importance values, and multilinkage cluster analysis. The composition, structure and habitat of each association are given, as are examples to show how the site requirements and ecological tolerances of the more important associated species can be derived. Keywords
