The Statistical Analysis of the Distribution of Pond Molluscs in Western Canada

Abstract

Analysis of the distribution and association of 10 gastropods commonly found in the 315 ponds studied shows uneven distribution and marked divergence in the "coefficients of association." The mutually high coefficients among certain groups of spp. may be correlated with similar habitat requirements. A mathematical approach to distributional studies is emphasized.
