Abstract
The absolute infrared absorption intensities of the fundamental vibrations of GeH4 and GeD4 have been measured using nitrogen pressures of 900 psi to broaden the individual rotational lines. Alternative sets of the derivatives of the dipole moment with respect to designated stretching and bending symmetry coordinates are obtained. A least‐squares analysis of the isotopic data indicates that the positive ratio of the two dipole‐moment derivatives is the preferred solution. Keywords
