CXII. Electron and gamma ray spectroscopy with scintillation detectors

Abstract
An account is given of β- and γ-ray energy measurements. Various coincidence techniques appropriate to scintillation detectors are examined experimentally, and an investigation is made of the application of a single crystal, with source buried inside, to the elucidation and closer examination of decay schemes. Work is described on standard sources, on Hg203, and in some detail on La140. New information is given for La140 concerning the 0·093 γ-ray, the high energy γ-ray and the decay scheme.
