Abstract
The observation that, in the presence of a Poley absorption the high-frequency fall-off of the total dielectric absorption is faster than would be predicted by the simple theory of the inertial effect is shown to be a consequence of the Kramers-Kronig relations. The effect is illustrated by means of a simplified form of the theory proposed by Leroy et al (1967). The theory shows satisfactory agreement with the experimental results. Keywords
