LO mode frequencies in III-V compounds

Abstract

It is shown that, in all III-V compounds measured to date, a simple relationship connects the LO mode frequency with the atomic masses and separations, without any correction being made for the ionic contribution to the binding. Some justification is given for this surprising result.
