Abstract
Data are presented to show that streamflow from the first catchment which was afforested at the Cathedral Peak Forest Influences Research Station has decreased since afforestation. The decrease became evident when the Pinus patula trees, which were planted on 74 per cent of the area, were eight years old. By the age of 17 years, the annual decrease for the area afforested was 508 mm and appeared to have levelled off. Keywords
