DYSPHAGIA OF TRANSITORY TYPE PRODUCED BY HYPERTROPHIC SPURS ON CERVICAL VERTEBRAE

Abstract

Dysphagia may result from deformity of the esophagus by protruding spurs of cervical hypertrophic arthritis of the spine. This lesion is easily demonstrated by barium swallowed with the cervical spine slightly extended. The lesion is comparatively benign, and symptoms are believed by reassurance and sedation.
