Abstract
Hubbard's idea of an extensive metamorphic event, “the Hallandian”, contemporary with the formation of the charnockitic rocks in the vicinity of Varberg in south-western Sweden is revised. It is suggested that the term “Hallandian” should be restricted to the Varberg area, as its applicability within other parts of south-western Sweden is still not justified. Keywords
