Abstract
A three‐tube postmix burner using oxygen and hydrogen has been developed, enabling large‐diameter single crystals to be grown. The design of this burner permits one to grow many different types of materials without changing burners (Verneuil to tri‐Cone), and greatly reduces gas turbulence. Comments on growth of rutile, strontium titanate, nickel oxide, sapphire, and spinel are included. Keywords
