Effect of Cortisone on Lipids of Serum, Liver and Testes in Intact and Adrenalectomized Rats.

Abstract
Cortisone therapy increased serum cholesterol and lipid P of intact rats but did not have this effect in adrenalectomized rats maintained with DCA. Adrenalectomized rats maintained with DCA showed an increase in liver lipid P. This was restored to normal by a dosage of cortisone which was without effect on the liver lipid P of the intact rat. Cortisone therapy decreased testicular wt. of intact and adrenalectomized rats, but caused no change in the conens. of cholesterol and lipid P of the testes.Keywords
