Lysogenicity in Xanthomonas pruni

Abstract
An apparently lysogenic strain of Xanthomonas pruni was isolated. A series of experiments was performed to determine whether the isolate was lysogenic or whether it was a case of pseudolysogenesis. The results indicated that it was a true case of lysogenesis. The phage released by the lysogenic organism differed from the one used in its selection. The possible origin of this new phage and its lysogenic host is discussed.
