Distribution of H-2 Specificities Within the LM Mouse Gell Line and Derived Lines.

Abstract
Indirect fluorescent antibody tests were used to demonstrate the presence of each of the specificities of the H-2k allele on L-M mouse cells grown in medium 199 supplemented only with peptone and on derived lines including cells grown in Eagle medium without supplement. In contrast to the reported heterogeneity of blood group A specificity in cultured rabbit cells the H-2 specificities were found to be distributed uniformly on all cells in each of the populations studied. Further evidence against a relationship of alkaline phosphatase and the H-2 specificities also was obtained. No qualitative or quantitative difference in any H-2 specificity could be shown between cells with high alkaline phosphatase content and cells lacking the enzyme.
