COLCHICINE-INDUCED SUPERCONTRACTION OF CHROMOSOMES AND HETEROCHROMATIC SEGMENTS IN VICIA FABA

Abstract

The study was made to clarify whether the degree of chromosome condensation of the heterochromatic region differs from that of the euchromatic region in colchicine-induced contraction in the primary root tips of V. faba. The results obtained did not indicate the differential chromosome condensation between heterochromatin and euchromatin.
