Abstract
The addition of 18.8 or 37.6 ppm of the antibiotic actinobolin to the diets of rats reduced significantly the total incidence of caries by 56 and 81 %, respectively. The reduction in caries obtained with actinobolin, compared with non treated control rats and rats treated with 25 ppm of fluoride, indicates the potential use of this antibiotic as a cariostatic agent. Keywords
