Abstract
The soluble degradation products of collagen after incubation in phthalate buffer at pH 5 show more hydroxyproline in the high molecular weight component whereas the hydroxyproline is greater in the low molecular weight component after collagenase treatment. These facts are used by the author to explain the loss of elastin in age. Keywords
