Broadband triangular microstrip antenna with U-shaped slot

Abstract
The broadband design of a triangular microstrip antenna with a U-shaped slot is demonstrated. With a foam substrate of thickness ~0.08λ0, a slotted triangular microstrip antenna with an operating bandwidth of ~18% is obtained, which is ~ 1.8 times that of a corresponding simple triangular patch antenna. Details of the antenna design and experimental results are presented.
