Abstract
We present an experimental study of the nuclear spin-lattice relaxation in a one-dimensional metal near the metal-insulator transition. The data obtained from the charge transfer salt -methyl-phenazinium-tetracyanoquinodimethan directly confirm the enhanced susceptibility predicted for a one-dimensional metal at and provide insight into the nature of the metal-insulator transition.
