Abstract
It is shown that the classical thin-shell states of the "SLAC bag" model may be described, in a strong-coupling limit, by the motions of a surface of constant surface tension upon which free quark fields propagate. Classical static and nonstatic solutions in two and three space dimensions are discussed. It is found that such objects are very easily deformed. The implications for excited state levels in and the quantum mechanics of a model of hadrons based on such states are discussed.
