Abstract
This is a comprehensive bibliographic review of a description of chemotaxis and of the factors which influence it. Topics discussed include: methods of evaluating chemotaxis, sensory aspects, transducer mechanisms and effector mechanisms. The ability to manipulate the cell orientation and rates of locomotion with defined agents make the leukocyte system useful for investigating the molecular basis of cell orientation and locomotion. Keywords
