Abstract
Thymectomy in 24 guinea pigs caused a decrease in the lymphocytes both in the spleen and in the lymph nodes, (the main lymphopoietic organs), and an increase of eosinophils in the circulating blood. In the spleen and bone marrow, the eosinophils decreased in number indicating either a decreased production or an accelerated output of these cells.
