Abstract
The aromatic diamidines in low concn.; are fungistatic vs. Blastomyces dermatitidis. Systemic blastomycosis is a serious disease with a high mortality and trial of the aromatic diamidines fro treatment seemed indicated. Four patients treated with parenteral stilbamidine, and propamidine locally when feasible, showed a beneficial response. In 3 patients, in whom adequate dosage could be employed, a cure was obtained. The only untoward manifestation was a delayed onset of facial neuropathy which was observed when a total of only 2.2 g. was employed. Keywords
