Abstract
Oral admn. of ethionine for 4 wks. produces in male and female rats diffuse degenerative changes of the liver cells associated with regeneration and a diffuse intralobular fibrosis which distorts the lobular pattern in places. This is associated with the reduction of fat depots of the entire body and of the normally present fat in the liver. The lesion is prevented by simultaneous admn. of methionine. Keywords
