Malignant malnutrition in Fiji

Abstract
3 cases of fatal malignant malnutrition among children in Fiji are discussed. The condition is believed to be due to a diet vary high in carbohydrates and very low in proteins and vitamins. This diet is most dangerous to children soon after being weaned, since milk is very scarce on the islands, and other sources of proteins and vitamins are absent from the normal diet of the children.
