Physical Development of Schoolgirls in Upper Burma

Abstract
Of 702 girls studied, the median age of the menarche was 14.4 years. Studies on weight and height demonstrated that adolescent girls'' growth is of two superimposed types: physical growth dependent on age and sexual growth dependent on sexual development. Growth starts earlier in the tropics and and it appears that little growth in height occurs after age 14 years.Keywords
