Abstract
The rate at which India ink particles pass through the ductus epididymidis was studied in 5 normal adult guinea pigs and in 17 guinea pigs in which the epididymides were denervated unilaterally or bilaterally. In the denervated animal the ink particles had moved only a short distance from the site of injection after 13-20 days, while in the normal animal they passed through the entire ductus epididymis in about 16 days. Sympathetic denervation produces a stagnation of the contents of the epididymis.
