The birth of a patas monkey is described. Changes in behavior of the mother during pregnancy are briefly mentioned and the development of behavior patterns in the infant during the first 2 weeks of life is summarised. In addendum this latter is compared briefly with that of a 2nd infant born in the laboratory a year later.
